City Council welcomes New Councilor

Tlokwe City Council recently welcomed a new Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor Vuyisile Magwa (25). Magwa, the youngest councillor in the current administration was sworn in during an ordinary council meeting held on the 31st March 2015. He joined DA in 2008 after being recruited by the late Daniel Lethoba, a former councillor at tlokwe. In 2009 he served as a deputy chairperson of Potchefstroom constituency and also at branch level. He was further elected as part of the North West DA Provincial youth structure where he served as a training and development officer.

He told Tlokwe News that he is looking at participating in the council with much optimism. He brings vibrancy in the council and believes that service delivery should be the cornerstone of every councillor’s programme. He also believes that there are a lot of infrastructure backlogs around Potchefstroom and a radical city council must spearhead transformation and ensure that there are equal opportunities for all. “We need to secure bright future for our kids through creating conducive environment for them to learn.”

Magwa believes that there is a need to motivate young people through positive role models and above all to create necessary opportunities for them
